Yup. After 7 months of procrastinating, I have FINALLY began construction of my new and improved home studio. The wife and I (no little ankle biters) bought a 4 bedroom to have room for my studio back in June. Instead of just getting to work on SOMETHING, I sat around trying to determine what should be done first. So, last night just before we headed up to the local strip club for some beers and boobs, I decide to get started. I have progressed quite a bit through the demolition today, and hope to have a dumpster and a couple of day laborers out next weekend. Maybe by the end of February (too many vacations and weekend get aways coming up) I'll have it all complete. Thanks for letting me share.

Edit to add: The room ends up being 12 feet wide by 24 feet long, yeilding 288 square feet of shooting space. Now to figure out where the woodshop will fit.

Cool! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I went through the same process four years ago and it was actually fun. Though I've sort of outgrown it now and am wishing I'd figured out a way to make more room.

p.s. Strip club?

are you sure that you didn't just come back drunk and start punching the walls, and now are looking for an explanation that your wife will buy? if that's the case, pretty clever...
