As the New Horizons spacecraft approaches Jupiter for its flyby late next month, it's been snapping a pic about every hour. I captured 11 frames from the website and created a crude animation, showing about one rotation of Jupiter:
Not a great animation - images should be about every 1/2 hour for more smoothness. There's also a bad jump at the end. You'd think I'd go back and fix it, but remember, I did this because I was being lazy...

One year to Jupiter... only 8 more years to Pluto! Let me mark my calendar!
Kinda puts the solar system's scale in perspective; I'm used to thinking of Jupiter and Saturn as being remote, but Pluto and beyond is on a whole new scale.
