It is amazing how everyone gets drawn into this type of thread. It was stated further back that the OP was showing bad site etiquette by posting this thread.

Why pamper to it. Let it die quietly, as it deserves.

Mine is getting hammered but one particular comment from one Bear_Music made the shot worth submitting.

Edit to add: he's the only one that made a guess at my intent and he got it right.

Mine is getting hammered, as well.
Gravely disappointed, as I jumped out of my comfort zone and tried some advanced editing...I also filled the dang frame! Ugggg, will I EVER understand DPC voters? *sulking*

In the words of comic book guy "worst score ever".

There is always next challenge.

I think the issue is probably what the viewer feels is the subject of the image. If that perceived subject does not fill the frame then DNMC.

Just a thought. ;o)

After having read this very entertaining thread, I'm very appreciative that I UNSUBMITTED my entry for this challenge!!! YIKES!!

Carry on...

hmmm... too bad this amount of emotions have to be vented over an issue of this magnitude. If a voter thinks a photo DNMC it is his or her right to comment that way and more importantly vote accordingly. To avoid DNMC's just stay as near the description as you can.

Someone in this thread mentioned there disappointment when they recieved a dnmc comment that didn't included any constructive criticism. On one of my first entries, I got a fair amount of DNMC's and although no one left a reason why they thought it was a DNMC I have realized my mistake and decided in order to recieve a good score and no DNMC's you should stay as close as you can to the despription. If you stray any from the description you are risking recieving dnmc comments.

Each voter can vote to his own opinion, and understanding of the challenge rules. Although this is my opinion on this issue, I am not against anyone else's opinion as it is his or her own right to discuss it. My wish is just that it would be a healthy discussion and not a name-calling vent!

Here is your answer...
This is TIHadi's entry to the Black and white portrait challenge.... Hmmmmmm.... see anything wrong? This is getting better and better :) :) :)

Not at all . It is not ok for me or for anyone to play with the rules.
The photo shown above was taken in B/W and I chose to give it this tinting and U believe it remains B/W , some others share the same opinion with me and some others do not.
When I got the DNMC I accepted and respected their ruling, not agreeing to it at the same time.
But kept quit... IT IS THEIR OPINION
I am not trying to force anything on anyone.
I hope I am understood.
Thanks

If it was your opinion that the image stated was black and white, you would be wrong it is red. A color is not an opinion it is a fact. Thus your complete explanation for your red black and white entry would mean your image DNMC. How can a color or a lack of color be an opinion?

No you are not understood. Not in a sense that you are making any sense. I understand you have a superior attitude and that's just fine, hopefully someday you will have something happen that humbles you a bit and you will come to know what a foolish thread you created here.

Thank you.

If that is the way you feel, fine. You should not have posted here if you think it is foolish. Just dump it and do not address it, you have that right too.

Thanks any way.

now back to the previously scheduled conversation..... about pots and karz and the like

Thanks for this. I was beginning to wonder. Also what exactly is the subject? (I think somebody already spoke about this.) I was quite sure my subject filled the frame and I got one of the dreaded DNMC comments causing me to wonder. I can't describe my pic here as the challenge is in progress but it would be interesting to have this discussion after it is over with concrete examples... what the heck does it mean anyhow?

If it's any consolation, I think you filled the frame very nicely in this.

Yeah, 'what the heck' is right. IMO, if your shot would garner comments like 'cropped too tight' or 'needs more negative space' in a regular challenge - then you probably have succeeded in filling the gol dern frame. Pfft.
