There's nothing we won't do for attention.

Did Star Wars push the envelope? Did it fall out of the box? Does it matter? No, because Star Wars made dunny-loads of money and was roundly appreciated.

What we need is appreciation for the out-of-left-field, curve ball, poets and painters far behind their rightful time, who have challenged the challenge with an entry that's as far from the cliché and the obvious interpretation as - er - a very far from cliché and obvious interpretation thing.

Oh, and YAPPIES for those who graciously devote time, energy, expertise and the generosity of sharing, to exceptional commentary above and beyond the call, etc...

The novice friar sup section of seam tuck, leaderless and without portfolio, has clumsily failed to avoid the responsibility of garnering your nominations:

for OOBIE and YAPPIE awards from recent challenges.

This is a bump. This is the thread for nominations. (At least, I say it is - no one elected me or anything).

I nominate skiprow for a YAPPIE with distinction - he's commented on every entry in the Best of 2006 challenge. Remarkable task to begin with, but Skip also happens to be an honest-to-goodness Paid Professional, so we probably owe him money for his time. Since I'm fairly certain no one is gonna pony up the cash, we at Team Suck could at the very least award him a YAPPIE and all privileges attached thereto.

posthumous posted this in the other thread-I'm just copying it over.

it fits the challenge so perfectly. The whole energy and humor of the photo depends on the match between the two shirts. A classic example of a great interpretation of the challenge that went over the head of most voters.

I concur, this photo was a great match. I love how the guy in the photo is pointing to the other guy! Great stuff.

So far so good. That's two one-horse races under starter's orders. I've heard that commentators can forget to breathe unless they rapidly name 25 horses in as many seconds once every other minute. Any more for any more?

haha just stumbled accross this, so I dont have to question my sense of humour anymore. What makes this funniest for me is that the "guy" in the window pointing is dipper who is an AFL (australian football league) icon.

cheers for the nomination

I wanted to know how you set that up... Were you just there at the right time and place or did you have a friend walk by? I thought it was funny and a good catch.

Hopefully without bias, I would like to nominate this shot for an oobie. Yes - it won a ribbon, but you must admit it was a creative approach to sticky note usage in the sticky challenge. I am not sure if this would be considered true oobie material but it cant hurt giving it a toss out there.

yeah I just caught it out of the corner of my eye, it was split second, it hasnt been cropped so you can tell how little time I had. its also why its kinda out of focus, as my shutter speed was too slow.

Winners here.

timfythetoo, it's hard to reject (not half as hard as being rejected, it's true), but here's the rejection of your familial plee:

Actually it's a very good plee, what with the picture being not only out of the box but also a quite exceptionally well composed set of colours and forms. (That's sort of what pictures are made of). And the make-up and the lighting . . .

However, the original manifesto, to which we fundamentalists cling, emphasises (a bit) This glorious award will be presented by members of Team Suck to worthy photographers of DPC in order to recognize achievements that may otherwise not get recognized.

As Cirque de Stickee has indeed been recognised, and as it's a little out of the time frame, I've made an aimeethetoo special stickee sucker that you can print out (serially) and use as private post-it material around the house. Consider it an award for a prodigious family's prodigious contribution to dpc well-being. Thank you.
