01/23/2007 02:15:47 PM · #2
Comment received or one you left?
01/23/2007 02:16:39 PM · #3
You can use the "report post" button in the upper righthand corner of the comment to report it to the SC. If it's in violation, they will remove it.

If you mean a comment you left, just delete it.

report it using the "report post" button. SC will review it and if warranted, will remove it. (note, this doesn't guarantee removal)

I reported a comment on one of my entries and nothing's been done about it.
:-P

It could also be because the comment is just plain idiotic, not offensive. I'm sure I've made my share of idiotic comments, though. :-D

I'm tempted to Report this post. ;-)

They do actually have to actually violate the terms of service before we remove them.

Stoopid comments don't count. Comments you don't agree with don't count either. not liking the commenter isn't delete worthy, either.

What if they have silly profile pics? You know like the kind involving cats on people's heads?

Or use weird emoticons? ;oP

Copying and pasting the same comment 60 times sometimes counts and sometimes doesn't.

What is wrong with a cat on your head?

I can leave you some comments that would be delete-worthy.

:)

Ya, really. They're so warm & fuzzy. It's nice the way they purr in your ear... oops, wait, that's the other end against my ear, HEY!

I recently left comments in a Challenge during voting only to find that someone didn't like said comment and decided to be childish and cut-and-paste the comment onto several images in my portfolio. SC was nice enough to remove them since it goes against the spirit of the site.
01/23/2007 05:14:46 PM · #19
you can always wait until after voting, and PM the commenter asking them nicely to remove the comment if it truly offends you. Hopefully the commenter would be mature enough to honor your request. I know if anyone asked me to remove a comment I left on one of their entries I would not have a problem with it.

However, you are a friendly type. Some are not. :)

I try to be friendly...and sadly it is true that others are not so :(

if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

if all you want are nice, safe comments, share your photos with your friends and family.

if you don't like what someone has to say, think carefully about whether or not it's something worth getting into.

if you don't want something repeated, don't say anything.

Would that all of life were just that easy! All you would have to do is say "EEEEWWWW", I don't like that, make it go away!". Life isn't like that though - you gotta take the good with the bad, and learn from it.

If the comment is truly vulgar or out-of-line, I'm sure SC will take care of it. If it's just that you don't like it - oh well, that's life.

yeah... as much as i'd like to remove skippy's comment from my best of '06, i'll just have to live with it. sure he's wrong... and should be made fun of for it... but what can you do?

;)

on the other side, if i were skip and someone like me asked, however nicely, to remove a comment i left while voting, i highly doubt i would. actually, it has happened that some one didn't like that i didn't like their photo and asked me to remove the comment. i didn't. i added to it (no. not that... i added a more helpful description of why i didn't like it...)

it wasn't that i wanted to be mean, but when you put your images up for scrutiny, you have to be willing to take the lumps with the praise...

... this one is bothering me, hypothetically speaking of course ...

what if some member you don't like has faved one of your photos ?

do i just have to ask him nicely "please remove my photo from your favorites." is this lame ?
