Am not sleeping well at the moment but might have found a cure! Rather than defragment my C drive in the background I sat here for almost 2 hours watching the files moving around the drive, it was so much fun watching the files move around and go from 18% down to 4% am going to do it again and see if I can improve on 4% Zzzzzzzz

Uh. . . You may need a new hobby. I recommend heavy drinking, or perhaps poking yourself repeatedly in the eye with a stick. (If there are no sticks around, you could just watch American Idol!)

lol, I am drinking a little too much and have Celebrity Big Brother on in the background (yet to spot an A lister yet though and there all asleep) the stick sounds like a plan :)

*edited to say* oops, there should be a 'g' in deframenting (damn keyboard)

XP's defrag is nowhere near as fun to watch as the one in 98 was, where you could watch the blocks move around :-)

And it was so cool to watch them gather and move around the bottom of the screen...

ack!!! Is that YOUR hard drive Brad? If so, how could you let it get that bad?

ya know when NTFS first came out they said it never needed to be defragmented....

That really was my hard drive.
But that was after converting the drive to NTFS.

Looked a LOT better the following morning:

i was waiting for my data to crunch the other day and my screen saver popped-up. it's that very standard windows starfield screensaver. for a couple of minutes, i actually stared at that and was thinking "this is freaking awesome!"

I like to stare at the visualizations in Windows Media Player when I've been drinking.

I would suggest hammering nails into your own hand instead - combined with heavy drinking, it's better then watching that :-o)
