| Well, based on comments received I am a bit disappointed. But disappointed more with assumptions made. Everything lately seems to center on processing or the assumption of processing performed and not the picture/composition itself...ok, better stop here or move to rant before I get all wordy and stuff. Needless to say I self DQ'ed the shot. |

I thought this one could go either way because I thought it had some technical issues that I had to work really hard to compensate for in processing. I'm so happy that so far, they aren't punishing me (yet):)

2 comments. I keep ending up around the middle, and no one (including me) comments around the middle; how do I figure out what voters are thinking if they don't comment?
I almost didn't submit this one; I don't enjoy processing, but I know I need to learn (and no, not just for DPC, but so that I can do it when I want to do it), and it needed a lot. I don't think I got it quite right in the end . . . but we'll see.

Has everybody stopped posting because (like me) they're all too depressed? Score started just above 6.0, and has been in a steady decline (with some precipitous drops) ever since.
Now at 5.38, and still only two comments from 135 votes.

I've only gotten half way through the song entries and I've been blown away by how powerful most of the entries really are! You guys should be really proud of yourselves - you started with pretty much nothing and have done amazing things with it!
From the other threads, too, it looks like scores are not that great? Maybe it's the season?
(Was going to post this as a seperate thread and decided to drop it here because you all sound so sad.)

Make that three "sheesh"es. I started out around 5.8 and have since declined to a 5.3 and sinking. Admiditly, it's not a great shot and I wish I had more time to work on it so 5.3 isn't all that bad. I'm just dissapointed because I saw it around 5.8 for a bit.
I haven't voted yet and hopefully my votes will pull everyone else's scores up a bit. |
