| No "best of 2006" challenge? I was hoping there would be.... I took this great shot the day before the bokeh 2 challenge was annouced and couldn't submit it...and it's a cool shot. |

I have no idea whether a best of challenge will appear - I'd be more than happy to see it go ahead. However, I would hazard a guess that its absence can be attributed to the increased frequency of the free studies.
As it stands a best of 2006 challenge would be full of shots that weren't really the best photo taken by the photog in the year. The very best images will (in many cases) have already been submitted to a monthly free study. |

Sheesh, not in my case; I've been holding one in reserve practically forever...

Same here. The image i want to use I took before all these monthly FS's started. Spent the last week or so going back and reediting the image from way back when as well. I was all geared up to pop mine into the queue this morning.

Well there is also not a free study for January either so I find this a bit wierd... Let´s give D&L a couple of hours though, I mean it was newyears eve last night so they´ll probably put this challenge up when they get around to it :)

There is a point where there is too many contests. Getting votes with 5 contests currently open for voting is pretty tough.

I dunno, I have never really seen my score change more than 0.2 up or down after the first 100 votes anyway with ONE exception so the number of votes really don´t matter to me, I would have thought you with a 178 challenges under your belt would have the same experience. |

Drat! I went all the way to the middle of NOWHERE in South SUdan, missed my flight and didnt get back till Nov. 1st - I missed all the applicable challenges and was hoping for at least a 2006.
