I guess I don't understand the point of expert editing (except for HDR) if you aren't going to do digital art.

And that is exactly why I'm against the newest editing rules set...

Well, I do appreciate the comment you made. Just sent you an e-mail. Thanks for leaving one. Now, if I can get to voting on this challenge, maybe I can leave you one.

I guess everybody needs their outcry for attention here at DPC...
Seems somewhat childish to me...
"I don't like it so nobody can!!!"
Lol...what a waste of time
Continue on...

Well, ya ain't hit me yet - but the worst/wonderful irony for me in this challenge is getting comments that I'm not taking advantage of the ruleset when I've introduced a major element. Mwah hah ha. Or something.
12/31/2006 08:39:20 PM · #19
Well, I thought there were a lot of good shots.....51 were 7 or higher with 10 I thought were 10's.

Same here.
I'd also like to apologise for any (and indeed most) harsh comments i've given.

I was pissed when I read your comment. Looks like it came from a video? You've got to be kidding me. Just because you cant see things outside the box, dont mean it's bad. My photo wasn't perfect but I acchieved the image I was trying to. Get a life! Have A Happy New Year :]

I read this thread when I first saw it and then forgot about it. Then you commented on my shot and I was like - hmphh...so I went back to this thread to see if you had said anything more and I see the above quotes. What I don't understand is this - if you are not fond of the challenge rules and you know you will not appreciate the entries as much as another challenge and you are against the editing rules, why take it out on the participants by voting low and leaving less than helpful comments that seem geared more towards your displeasure with the editing rules for the challenge than helpful to the photographer? Why not just ignore the challenge? Seems to me that would be a stronger statement than taking it out on the entries/entrants since it is only the admins who can change the rule sets used for challenges and not the general members.

Just seems your effort is misguided and off the mark and you are in no way being fair to anyone. JMHO!

Oh and thanks for the comment even though everything I did to my shot is legal in Advanced editing. I think you made some assumptions that are not valid based on your dislike for the editing rules.

I think thats where I was frustrated as well. The comment and vote didnt seem based on my image but was worded according to the dislike for the ruleset. If you hate the ruleset so much why bother voting in it?

No problem with the comment - thanks for stopping by - but I'm not sure that 'photographic' and 'looks real' are precisely synonymous. One of the charms (?) of photography is that it looks unreal.
