Feel like I'm about to ask one of those ultra dumb questions but...

Right Click -> Properties -> Summary -> Advanced.
Gives me the Exif data when I shoot JPG
When I shoot in Raw (NEF) the Exif info isn't available.

Am I looking in the wrong place? Do I need a plug-in / upgrade?

Edit: oh yeah - running Windows XP

you should still find it in photoshop (file info)

Instead of using Windows to do that, try using a proper software for it, like PS or IrfanView.

Take a look at this.
(Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP)

You'll see it just fine in Nikon View.

Thanks for the rapid feedback guys…

Eyewave & ignite
From Photoshop
File -> File Info -> Camera Data 1 -> draws a blank
But… I’m running Photoshop CS not CS2 –
Just spotted that it doesn’t look as if the raw plug-in for the D200 will work in CS

Thankyou Oscarmeyer & karmabreeze you are my only hope. :)
Cheers – I’ll try them out.

Do you have Windows RAW Viewer installed? If so, hovering over the thumbnail will get you SOME of the Exif, then some of it should be visible by selecting "properties" once the picture is open. I don't think it has a way to see ALL the EXIF.

Edit to add - Windows doesn't recognize RAW files at all without the Viewer, so it can't extract properties.

Thanks nards656 – that makes sense… so I’m not looking for a Windows patch.

I Enjoy Ham – I probably live on the wrong side of the pond to appreciate the irony - I havn’t a clue what you are on about :-)
