Not much of a dpc shot, maybe...

There are very few shots I have that I can say "I wouldn't change anything". These are about the only two. (although I would say my entry version of the Peter Iredale is clearly oversharp with a halo, that was fixed when I printed it).

I keep meaning to post something to this thread.. but every time I do, I am stopped by the nagging questions..

What is best? Best of what? Do they mean favorite? Is there a measurement system I can use? How am I to determine this?

Then I start to cry.

Nice photos being posted for the most part though! I just can't ever decide on what *my* best is, because it's just too subjective, even to my own self.

Maybe the one that gave you the most satisfaction when it was finished? Or is that too abstract too?

I think this is one of my all time favorites (too bad I didn't take it). *grin*

Same here. I absolutely love this shot.

There once was this freshman behind me in typing class, keep flicking my ear, after about 10 times of this, I let my arm fly back for a no-look, perfectly timed, backhanded b!!#$-slap across the face.

Best. Shot. Ever.

I have a similar experience.. but with my brother. He was poking me in the neck while I was on the computer one day. I finally snapped and round-housed him right into the pile of wood by the fire-place.

Ahhhh.. memories.

I'm torn between these two:

and
..though Pompeii needs to be re-edited. I've learned a hell of a lot since I took this back in 2003 with my 2mp p&s!

Well you might want to remove it from your portfolio and don't forget "no text". So remove that as well.

My best shot ever, to me personally, is this one.

I have others that people pick over this one, but This one just feels so classic to me.

Dang! Now I feel bad.

Thinking over my original post I realize that I did have something specific in mind but to circumlocute boxing anybody in or out, I let it ride.

Your Best Shot...an image you've taken thus far, that best conveys why you bought a camera or why you put in the time. Not your most popular by any means but something that does connect with people. Perhaps in a way only you can appreciate...maybe an image that was antecedent, seminal or something that sparked, deeply linking you, your subject and the viewer.

It's NOT about about photography. It's about the photograph.

It's between these two IMHO.
