Oh, one of those things huh? You say it like it is nothing. I have been eying that lens for a while. My wife wouldn't let me spend near that much on a lens though.

Me too! This is a lens that would make anybody jealous...

My wife wouldn't let me to spend that much either but there is at least an option for this. I got the 70-200 f/4L and I love it. It is 1/3 of the price, smaller, lighter and can get pretty much the same image quality given that you got enough light. Even if you cannot get enought light, just bump up the iso ;-).

Well, I still feel jealous about the f/2.8 IS though :-)))

This one is already in my favourites.. great capture!

The lens was definitely a case of saving saving saving, every penny I earned from photography in the last 6 months has been put into my 2.8 IS account. The previous six months money was used to pay off my 5D :-)

I initially went for the F4 IS but sent it back as it was incredibly blurry with the IS enabled, not the first time I have heard of it on that lens either, design fault?

Decided to get one imported from these guys
Onestop-Digital

hoping I wouldnt get stung on import/VAT, thankfully they have quite a cunning way round that :-) and it comes with full international warranty.. great purchase.

although I have got back-ache a lot more these days, its a bit heavy :-)
