hmm. is it ok if I send like it is now, with that noise? :) |
If it's your overly amorous neighbors on the other side of your thin walls, leave it in. Every holiday creation needs a little spice. |

I trying to record with the earphones. I used the right one, the left one, and both. The results are the same. It records but so faintly it can hardly be heard in playback. I think I have everything turned up to max volume in both recording and playback. I've tried two sets of earphones and the result is the same. Any ideas? |

Windows? - Open up your volume controls - usually by double-clicking the speaker icon in your system tray - then look for the Mic volume slider - see if that needs to be turned up... |

Even if it is really quiet, I can make it louder to a certain extent. Obviously, the louder it is originally the cleaner it will sound in the end, but I can work with it if you can't fix it :)

I'll send you what I have. Let me know if you can use it. If not, I'll have to use the phone. |

I tried the earphone thing too to try to avoid the phone voice. :) But I couldn't get either side of two sets of earphones to work on either of my computers. I even found an old set that had a microphone but that didn't work either. But I've never tried to record anything on the computer before so I probably have no clue as to what I'm supposed to be doing. I just tried using the sound recorder listed under my accessories.
So, long story short, I'll wait to hear from Laurie about setting up time tomorros to record it using her skype account.
Edit 'cause I can't spell. :)

Did anyone mention that if your trying the earphone thing you need to plug the earphones into the mic socket on your soundcard?

When I recorded mine, which came out much too quiet, I had the earphones plugged into the mic jack. Maybe you aren't plugging into the right place. Or maybe I wasn't. Hmmmm. |

Also, little 'in-ear' ear phones work much better than big padded ones with a headstrap.

Just a quickie on recording in Windows:
1) Double Click on your volume icon in the system tray.
2) Go to Options Menu and Click Porperties
3) Tick the Recording Button and make sure the Microphone Checkbox is checked. Click OK
4) You are now on the Record Control Window. Make sure the check box next to Select under the Microphone Slider is checked and then crank that slider up to about 3/4 to start.
5) You can now use Sound Recorder to recrod your lines.

Hey, Thanks Leroy! That did the trick. :-) Now to wait for a quiet time when there are no little munchkins hovering around screaming "MOM! MOMMY!!!" :-)
