Looking to learn. I hope this is the correct spot to do this. From what I have read the only other way I see to get a critigue review is when you submit a photo for a challenge you can check the box asking for it.
Here is the home gym I will be shooting my sons games in.
This was durring there practice. The room in devided into two gyms and the blue background you see is the devider. There is a walking track that is up above the gym that I maybe able to shoot from, other wise I only have three side of the gym to use. Would love some input. Do the colors and skin tones look ok? I have a lot to learn and you can help, thanks..

Skin tones are off. They look yellow to me. Probably reflecting from the floor. Tough situation to shoot in. |

Actually, "individual photograph discussion" is probably the best place for this. |

The skin tones do look a bit yellow, as stated by Christine. If you shot this in raw, you could adjust the white balance. If you only have a jpeg, then try using the blue channel in curves to knock out most of the yellow. It may look a little green after this, due to the type of lighting, in which you then do the same only in the green channel. A faster shutter speed would also help with the motion blur of the boy on the left. This is not a focus problem, but a slow shutter speed. You can tell because your son on the right is in crisp focus. Gyms are tough places. Try as many different angles as you can. Good luck. |

Wow, that's a old post. :)
Last games are this weekend and then basketball season is over.
I have taken thousands of basketball game photos now in all kinds of different gyms.
Really getting sick of them by now and can't wait for soccer to start. :)
Thanks for the advice.. |

Wow! Great action shot, and a huge improvement. Yep, that's awesome.
The only comment I can add is that it's maybe just slightly oversharpened. There's some of sharpening lines around the front boy's head and his arm. I only noticed after looking back at the image a few times. At first glance, it certainly makes the image nice and crisp, and it has great natural colours.
