My name is Lee

I am 32 years old and live in the swamplands of South Carolina. I'm a Retinal Angiographer/Clincial Photographer/IT Manager/Graphic and Web Designer for a large ophthalmology clinic. I am currently trying to launch a side business in maternity and newborn photography my website.

I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world and have the most precious 19 month old baby boy in the world. I enjoy photography (obviously), home improvement, and woodworking. I am a tool nut and techie who also enjoys long strolls on the beach and all of the arts.

I tend to be brutally honest in my comments and a few people appreciate it and many dislike it. I tend to be very laid back, yet open and honest.

Uhmm... that's pretty much it.

If the team would like, I would be happy to work on a team logo that we can proudly display on our profile page.

Hi

I'm Sarah. I'm a Brit currently residing in Chicago Illinois. My day job is in the accounting arena. I travel a lot both for work and play.

I have been hanging out here at DPChallenge since the summer of '06. I am also very actively involved at the Chicago Photography Center here in Chicago. This has been an amazing experience - hanging out with like minded individuals. Despite low scores here at DPC some of my photos will be in a gallery show in the Spring of 07 at the CPC.

I am very much a beginner with Photoshop - still think that it's better to get it right in the camera with minimal "tweaking" in PS. Have lots of things to learn when it comes to photography. Edit to add: Not just photography really!!!

Sarah

Aye me Harties!

I'm Jan, 31 years old and I live in Kempton Park, South Africa (the most beautiful country on the planet). I work as a pension fund rules drafter and will be studying Pension Law next year.
I recently took up photography as a hobby, but I am hoping to make something more permanent of it and to hopefully make lots of money from it while having fun.

So, to all other, hide your ribbons! Us DP Pirates come to raid, pillage and plunder (you may want to hide your daughters as well).

Let us cast of and set sail, I spot a chest of ribbons to plunder on the horison, har!
And don't forget the rum!!!

Hey Lee,

Thats pretty cool.. What else do you have planned for it? I do want also to see quickshutters next week maybe we can have 2??? I like the shutter eye BTW. I think thats a really cool addition, but can me make him a bit meaner lookin???

Great Job....

I guess on a side note also, I forgot to talk about my photography in my about me thing, I am relitivly new also to serious photography. I blame my wife as she was the one who first started to tell me how nice my photography is and pushed me to enter for a spot in a gallery. Well I got the gallery, and at my opening I sold 15 pieces and overall through the 2 month gallery, I ended up selling 27pcs. I still really do not think my photography is that good, especially compared to alot of others here, but it gets me out of the house and I have alot of fun doing it.

Thats enough for now.
Rich

Thanks... It's a work in progress. I want to add a wooden background and "weather" it all a bit. I was going to try to punch up the skull to make him more intimidating also. This was quickly thrown together as I'm going out of town this afternoon through Saturday. I will work on it a bit more when I get back. I'm glad you noticed the shutter eye... I thought it might be a bit too subtle.

Just don't steal any photos or we'll kick you pirates booty.
You can try and steal a ribbon or two, but we all know pirates don't like to work.

My son played on the Rocky River Pirates Ice Hockey and their underdog team won the CSHL Cleveland Suburban Hockey League Championship, simply because of teamwork. I saw wit me eyz and video, wut teamwork ken do.

In the days of pirates corn was cheap, only a Buccaneer(Buck-an-ear.)

Main Entry: buc·ca·neer
Etymology: French boucanier woodsman, pirate (in the 17th century West Indies)

Yo Ho, my shipmates. Hope everyone is doing well.I am hoping this weekend to take a look at each one of your portfolios and make some comments. I will get to everyone eventually, but there is a lot of swabbing the deck and cleaning going on at my house because we just moved so we are still trying to unpack boxes in time for christmas, beacause its supposed to be at our house this year.

And a quick note to all outsiders:

Prepare yourself for the worst plundering of WPL as we loot and attempt to steal all the ribbons in the WPL4 and hang our photos high from the gallows for all to see.

Cap'n Carter

(PS: Probably not really but, hey its fun to trash talk a bit )

I think this thread needs an "adult content" warning!

After all, it's rated "Arrrr!"

12/16/2006 07:11:02 AM · #23
Arrr it is ye scallywags! Perhaps the adult warning may not be a bad idea as we inevetably may kidnap a poppit or two, and perhaps a strapping young lad for Elizadeb!

Oh, and hide ye rum, as all this pirating makes I a thirsty sailor!
12/16/2006 10:45:48 AM · #24
Aye, jan vdw, a strapping young lad would do just fine! ;)Gather 'round, me maties, there are ribbons to be had near and far!
12/16/2006 02:15:16 PM · #25
Har!

Rich, hope the moving is not too hectic, I know it can be quite stressful to move. Remember to stop for a beer mate!

How are the rest of the pirates doing?

Me, I am finally on leave, well deserved I hope. Plenty to look forward to though, have a few things to do and places to see, which includes the cradle of humankind. A world heritage site here in South Africa. Can't wait.

Have fun me harties!
