okay..i just bought a vivitar vivicam 10 yesturday..i took some pictures..and i got home and installed everything on to my computer..well i plugged the USB cable into my computer and camera..and i opened up the program and it said that the USB cable couldnt be detected..what do i do?

Mac or Windows, pretty?

I hope you did restart the computer before plugging.

Try re-starting your computer again.

You might need to install a driver for your camera so the computer can recognize it. And then restart, again.

1. Yes, when in doubt, reboot

2. If you have another USB port on your computer, try that. Try using one that you know works with other hardware.

3. You can buy a USB memory card reader for about $15. You just remove the card from your camera, put it in the reader and download your photos from there. It is waaaay more convenient and faster than downloading from your camera plus you can carry it around and download to any computer.

I have a question for you pretty. Do you have any other usb devices installed on your computer? It's possable usb isn't enabled in your computer's BIOS. You enter the BIOS at bootup from the memory counting screen. Pressing delete is the most common way to enter the BIOS. Just a small warning though. When in the BIOS be carefull what you change 8)
