Results are still not back from the MRI.

T has suffered much mental and physical pain this past 18 months and has shown great strength for one so young. Today the doctors think she has a rare variation of Post Herpetic Neuralgia. I'm going to have a little chat with her now to try and cheer her up a little.

Let her know how much we miss having her around and hope she's back on her feet and shooting soon.

I hope that she can recover and move on from this as PHN is nasty but it does have a half life. My wife suffers from a non-specific (read: the doctors have no idea what is going on!) syndrome that causes severe diplopia in one or both of her eyes, thus confining her to the house for weeks at a time. Her courage in facing this condition has caused me to re-evaluate what I think is "debilitating", think about the truly important things in life and to have increased empathy for those facing similar trials.

I am not a religious person and nor do I know Talj personally, but my thoughts and those of my wife are with her and we wish her the courage and strength to get through this.

I once again send Talj all our love and comfort, so she can soon recover, and come back to us as wwe definately miss her so much.

Thanks also for the updates Andi, as it makes such a differance to know how she is fairing.....

Keep the love inside of you Talj, as you need all the strength you can muster, to get well again.

love always Shez & pete

Thanks for keeping us updated Andi - Here's hoping she gets well enough to at least enjoy some of Christmas!

If you're talking to her, tell her the turtles are doing great... :-)

Just checking in to see how Talj is doing. Any news would be appreciated.

As usual every time I speak with Talj they have told her something different.

Good news however, the physio has just left and said she will be going home later tomorrow :) :) She is not a well girl but am sure being home will speed up her recovery.

I'll be visiting Talj after christmas so she will probably go down with food poisoning next lol. Am sure her first job will be to powerup the old laptop and say high to you all.

She has always been in my thoughts, and so pleased that they say she can go home.
I only hope she has someone to look after her, and that she takes it easy.....
We really missed you Talj, and so look forward to seeing you back in the land of DPC.....

talj I am so pleased to hear you are about to be home and in your own space once again. It may be that you have a journey ahead of you. You have friends, close by and far away who cherish you. Hold that thought, good friend.

(PS-I'm gonna be in England in June, and if you're anywhere I can reach, well I'm gonna come find you!)

Hey talj! I bet the walls never looked so good! Nothing like a fingerprint on the light switch to know you're where you want to be!

It seems like each time I update its one step forwards and two back!

Talj was told today she will not be going home until next Thursday after she has had 'stuff' installed in her home. She is not well pleased but understands it will be for the best.

She sends Christmas greetings to all of you and apparently I'm cooking next Thursady lol

Well, give her my best wishes. And tell her to enjoy her NHS Christmas Dinner... :-p

Send her my Christmas wishes, Andi, and I hope she will be out in time to celebrate the dawn of what - hopefully - will be a better year for her.

And make it a good meal, mate - although most things are a gastronomic delight after NHS food! :-)

I'm so sorry that I have missed this thread until now and therefore not added my best wishes for Natalya's good health. Natalya, I know Christmas in hospital isn't what you'd hoped for but I hope the New Year will be a better one for you and that your health will go from strength to strength. Best wishes, Kavita

WOW!! You guys are awesome!!

I arrived home a couple of hours ago and boy am I glad to be back!

Christmas in hospital was a bit of a bummer but its nice to be home and am looking forward to the 'meal' Andi is supposed to be cooking tonight :o)

I want to say a HUGE thank you to Andi - Ecce Signum for all the support he has given me and for starting this thread. I am one lucky lady to have such a fantastic bestest friend :o)

I would also like to thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers, they have been greatly appreciated this past few weeks.

After (many) blood tests, lumbar punctures, scans and more scans the 'diagnosis' is inflammation on the brain caused by an infection which has been treated (ongoing) with antibiotics. They also believe I have Post Herpetic Neuralgia and I am on lots of painkillers to manage the pain as well as various tablets to treat nerve pain and something else (I cant remember!).

Although I am home things are going to be difficult for quite sometime. I have had 'stuff' installed to make getting around my flat a lot easier and now I need to just realise that for the forseeable future I can't do all things I used to.

BUT! I'm a fighter :o) I've come too far to let a little thing like this get me down so don't you guys go thinking those ribbons are safe....in the new year I'm coming after the blue!!! :o)

Once again thank you all, DPC is an amazing community and I have been touched by your kindness to me :o)

Love to all,

Natalya xx
