I hope the first meds they try are the ticket--thinking of you, and so happy you got a definitive diagnosis. (Andy, still thinking about you, too.)

Meningitis is no fun - I had it when I was four. Give her my best, and tell her to hang in there.

Am glad to hear the NHS do sometimes work at the weekend, T is about to have a CT scan and Lumbar Puncture. She thanks you all for your kind words (and wants 'her' girls to go the extra mile this week).

Andi, please pass along my good thoughts and hopes for a quick recovery, too. Talj is way too nice a lady to be stuck with all this.

Good news is the CT scan came back clear so rules meningitis out! Back to the drawing board for a diagnosis then. T says "Hi" and that "Lumbar Puntures f*&^%g well hurt" so, she still has some humour lol.

Waiting on some more blood results, will wet you know more as soon as I do.

Tell our gal that I can TOTALLY sympathize with the diagnostic pain :-) Meningitis was what deafened me in 1949, and I can STILL remember vividly the spinal taps... I've had a needle phobia ever since.

Yeah.. I don't remember the spinal taps they gave me when I was four, but it obviously scarred me for life as I now must preemptively warn all of my doctors that I am a high anxiety patient and don't handle needles well at all.

More thoughts and prayer for a correct diagnosis, treatment, and quick recovery.

How weird; we have the same phobia, we give docs and blood labs the same warning, and my dog is named after you :-)

I will also be looking for more good news soon. Glad to hear meningitis has been ruled out. And yes, from more first hand experience, I symphathize with Natalya 110%. They smart. But that test is over now, anyhow.

*update*

Am currently chatting to T on the phone and she seems much more 'up beat' tonight (read taking the mickey out of me).

T is booked in for an MRI tomorrow. Today her doctor spoke of a viral infection in some blood vessels in her brain and a clot on her lung. Maybe the MRI will give a positive diagnosis and they can start curing the problem.

The lucky girl is on Morphine :) when I an op on my back a few years ago I had intravenous 'self regulated morphine' and got a real blast from turning it right down until the pain got so bad I wound it up to free flow! beats the needle in the stomach anyday.

T sends her love and hopes to be amongst the dpc throng again soonest :)
