I'm always amazed at threads like that at how many people from even less than 2 years ago I do not recognize at all. That was only 3-4 months before I signed up.

I got an 8 along with a well thought out and constructive comment, then the very next vote was 1 (and again, someone bumped down as well).

Uh... for the last challenge I messed up and put in the wrong, unprocessed pic...And I got a much better score for that.. I am soooo dead..

| I dropped 0.5 today. 0.5 ! ! ! ! How does that happen? Both my comments say it's a good photo, but they want something extra...like a more colored object...Come on now. |

Mine has been falling steadily, too. It started out in the low 6 range, then the second day held onto the 5.7 range and today is trying to stay in the 5.5 range.
It has 8 comments. 7 of them say how nice it is. |

yup same here i was happy in the 5.9 range

Well.. I was going to say that I agreed with the earlier post that said that stuff that meets the challenge still needs to look nice to get a good score. I didn't want to say anything additional for fear of offending. But without the additional stuff, I realized that my post was sort of pointless, and I was trying to sort of beat around the bush and it wasn't working very well.
The thing I didn't say was that even though it is true for any challenge, (it being the fact that images that meet the challenge clearly and literally and well probably won't get a high score if they don't look nice as photos,) with this challenge in particular there *seems* to be a high number of people who thought they could get by on meeting the challenge alone.
I guess on the one hand it makes sense, because "death" isn't usually thought of as pretty (and this isn't a member challenge, so the quality of overall images sort of is decreased in comparison anyway)... but still I wouldn't have thought that this many pictures of roadkill would show up. |
