This stinks! I can't think of a single neighbor or friend that has a pet. I live in an apartment complex that doesn't allow pets, so neighbors are out... and all my friends are starving college students... so they don't have any pets either!!! :-(

Tell me... how do you get water animals to "line up"??? ;-)

hmmm yes: would require supernatural talent...how about hypnosis??:)

Maybe you could buy a pet, photograph it and then give it to your friends for dinner?

Do Sea Monkeys count as pets? If so, does anybody know where to get a 20:1 macro lens?

Is there a dog park nearby? You could play super-spy and shoot strangers' pets. lol

Okay, what say you: does a pet portrait involve a pet ONLY or would a human and pet be okay....thinking ahead of replies I am supposing that sticklers will say "Pet Only".... but then what constitutes a pet? Teachers may have pets in their classes and they are far from the canine/feline variety??? So might I not include a pet and a human pet?

In the Pet Portraits I challenge, I noticed a few comments about the "human" element. There was a really excellent shot of a bride, a groom, and their ring bearer (a dog). It didn't do terribly but there were a few comments about the humans in it.

The problem I am going to have with this challenge is keeping the pet still long enough to take his picture. (Darn spazzy Labradoodles!!!)

Or you could put them in the fridge. Works with spiders and ants and creatures like that :P

(I'm kidding of course)

That's TERRIBLE! You can't eat a pet, then it's not a pet anymore! ;-) Maybe I'll have to go dig up some hybernating roly-polys from under the snow and call those my pets. Hmmm.. must keep thinking!

My husband and I are currently debating over who gets to shoot our very photogenic, decently trained pooch and who has to follow the stubborn, do-as-they-please cats around for the week.

I'm losing.

Divorce is probable. (kidding....sort of) :-)
