Man, I just don't get this... in the past I have posted photos that are grainy, selectively focus, unsharpend... I have had comments telling me that they were grainy, soft focus, etc... never considering that maybe that was the plan, so this time I loaded a pic which was technically perfect, adhered to the challenge 100% and I am scoring my lowest score ever... I just don't get it!

phew... I feel so much better getting that off my chest!

Which was your entry?

I looked on your profile and couldn't see an entry for the recipe challenge, as that is the one that just ended.

I believe she's talking about her "all alone" entry. I was looking for it too and noticed just like me she's not a member.

Oops, must be all alone challenge, but I still don't see an entry. Let me know photogirl as I'd like to have a look.

Later edit: Oops, current challenge, I got it now ;)

If you mean my e-mail achiral .... Bigpuddle, here in Aussietralia, is stuffing around with e-mails and they get delayed for days, so I can't see anything :(

Wow! I can't wait see what a technically perfect shot looks like. I assume this includes perfect composition and lighting too. Don't forget that subject matter is also important.

Technically perfect?!? I'm on the edge of my seat until the morning of the 29th! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait...

I sometimes submit photos with high hopes for them just to realize with time that they weren't all that great. I find that's where comments from other DPCers are quite helpful. It's like writing. You write something up, thinking that it's pretty good then put it away for a few days or weeks. When revising it, you often realize that many sentences and whole paragraphs could have been written differently. Just like this really bad post.

Something tells me that this poor photo can never live up to expectations! :D

wow what a response! humm first, I just needed to rant, hence the rant forum... Pitsaman, I like grain (noise) and shallow DOF, and it was MY self port and I wanted it to portray ME! that's what the hell I was thinking!

for those of you who were supportive I really appreaciate it!

as for the bullies, it is technically 'perfect' because I followed ALL of the photography "rules" (man I hate rules)... and while were at it, I don't expect to win any ribbons here, I know that will never happen, but I really like the challenge of the challenge! please feel free to send me a PM if you would like to continue bashing!

i think people were twerps .. i understood the sentiment :)

I always seem to be quite bemused when I win ribbons or do really well, because I never expect it with these pictures. My highest scoring pictures often do very little for me.
IMO some of my best pictures have received the lowest scores.

Here are some of my favourites out of my submissions:

Crying "bashing" when you typed "WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE????" for the title of your thread is rather disingenuous. Don't go fishing for it if you don't want it.
