I am experiencing the unusual, but pleasant, phenomenon of having my score start low and just keep going up. Still pretty early though, less than 50 votes.

| I've had the roller coaster effect. Started in the 8s after 4 votes then plummeted to the mid 6s and has been rising ever since. |

I'm glad that there are people that have confidence in me :-)
No, the record is for the smallest standard deviation of any score. It is around 0.05 right now. We'll see how the week progresses... My image is one of those 'nice, but nothing special. 5.'
Occasional voter in a good mood throws a 6 at me (those that realize that 5.5 is the average, not 5), and occasional voter that believes that I wasted their time by submitting this mediocre shot to a free study (the belief I share) shoots me down with a 3 or 4. Currently sitting at 5.0 |

My scores have dropped a lot today from almost a 7 down to a 5.9. Personally I think people are just flying through the entries and not taking the time to really look at them. I have been told I am someone else who does very well in the comments which is nice since that guy is pretty good. But that is not how people are voting. after 58 votes I am at a 5.9. This image to me would have been an 8 or 9 just for the sharpness and tonal quality of it. The subject matter may not be to the liking of some of the voters so that might be why I am getting hammered too. Whatever, I know and DPC has taught me well there is no accounting for taste and the people who vote here proved it to me again.

you might be right in an aspect, but i got a lot of low scores for pics i thought they should do way better, but after the challenge i noticed why i did not score high, a bit out of focus, over sharpened, colors, composition, whatever reason... and most importantly i realized what i need to do to fix it and get a better pic and i did. |
