OOBIE (Out of the Box) Winner:

Contratulations to BakerBug for a very creative and well-realized entry into Reflections Without Mirrors:

Yappie (Commentor) Winner:

In what may seem somewhat of an out of the box selection, the Yappie goes to MarkSimms for providing clear, distinct comments when he leaves a low score on an image. As one of the Team Suck members pointed out, we may not like getting low scores, but it's always good to know why.

----------------

And with that, nominations are open again for the challenges just completed. See any really good "out of the box" shots in Black and White, Headwear, Spots, or HDR you'd like to have recognized? Get any good comments you'd like to have honored? Post 'em here!

Bump for the East Coast getting home from work crowd. (And the "it's the day before Thanksgiving so I'm goofing off at work" crowd.)

Bump for the "I'm not going shopping today" crowd in the US.

thanks! yeah, thats the one, though the nudity warning is obviously a word play on the pic and not an 'actual' nude.

I would like to nominate posthumouscomment on my b/w entry.

It wasn't long and detailed but he saw in the shot exactly what I was trying to portray.

I would like nominate this image for the 00BIE. I can't believe it finished so low but here at DPC you will always get slammed for having grain.

I'd like to nominate hotpasta for this shot from HDR.

I think it is incredibly beautiful, makes perfect use of HDR to capture the colors and bokeh outside the bright window and the still life in front of the window in the same shot, and it was grossly under-rated (43 of 82).

As for the out-of-the-box factor: most people shot landscapes for HDR, and most people wouldn't use dying flowers for a floral still life. That's stretching 'out-of-the-box' a bit, but I really think this shot deserves some extra of recognition.

I liked this still life of the helmet by zool in the headwear challenge. The rich colors and design are stimulating and pleasing.

It was not well received by the voters, negative comments on technical points, but I thought it deserved much better, considering the creativity.

I'll nominate Xilebo for this comment on my black and white entry. Hooray for people who stop to notice details.

The first thing I noticed was the ring pinned to her dress, she must have so many stories to tell, very nicely done..
