OK! To start with, i made a mistake in not going through the complete description of the challenge.
"Take us back to yesteryear by photographing something that defined the year you were born. Start googling, looking through old news papers and magazines, and show us your photographic interpretation of the year of your birth. Your title should should include the year."
My idea was to convey the idea by the image and the caption.

I started googling for the year [deleted] and came across this news about
[deleted]
On the second thought, wouldn't it be more meaningful to convey the year by the submitted image rather than giving it in the title.

Hi!
Yeah I thought about that, but I don't look anything like Janis Joplin and I wanted to remake the famous photo of her with her beads an bare breasts wich shocked the world at the time. (I think her year of death was '69 wich is the year I was born)
but in one day I could not get all that arranged.
I like many of the entries though! so i'm gonna vote today :) |

I just voted, but I have no idea if your photo was one of my choices. I can't see who made the photo and I didn't recognise the typical Arti-Elvi style this time. |

Oh I've already done the purposeful brown already... Was going for other category of brown... *Bad processing leads to complete meltdown*

I think with the new rules there will be a much more concrete final vote, no more 1 cause I just don't like it....
My goal is to score a top 10 this time cause there are only 100 submissions :P |

| wow it was doing so well when i left earlier. and now its tanked and gone down 0.2 in a couple of hours :( and it started so well aswel. |

Nope you haven't commented *yet* unless you're under a paper bag...
I have the year in as well.. the problem is with the un-dpc friendly processing... It's either like or hate, hate, hate..

| So far, I've seen a lot of good shots. I think most people did a good job of portraying the year. Several don't have the year in the title though and that makes it hard to understand some of them. |

I'm through about a quarter of them and a few are just puzzling! There are others that I've had to Google to figure out, but I'm learning (or maybe relearning) lots ;-) This is a fun one to vote on. |

Not exactly where i'd like to be, but understood... as this was an EXTREMELY rushed shot - and i totally pooched the last minute post-processing. Luckily the concept & composition are strong enough that some people are looking beyond it's faults :O) |

| Sheeez, this morning I woke up and discovered an astounding score of 6.6 coming out of a handful of votes, I've slowly dropped to a 6.2 BUT the amazing thing is that I've received 8 comments and all WOW ones at that? Must be a case of LOVE it or hate it and the ones who don't love it are throwing in their 4's... :( |

first challenge: 3.87
second challenge: 4.40

| I haven't entered, but I?m very interested in the submissions. Some very creative entries but also a lot which just aren't pushing creativity, I'm giving out an average of 5 on this one i think, commented on the 3's. |
