Well if it's any consolation that band of yours has kept playing for me however the drummer died from a heroin overdose. Sorry about that.

I was going to say the same thing. I've never heard of perspective lighting. |

Weird... I have only 7 comments, yet it's scoring well over 6, with 3 favorites. I've never seen anything like that before. :-/ |

Perspective can also refer to the actual point of view. In this case the actual position, angle of the camera and focal length of the lens. For example, a bird's-eye view may provide a dramatic perspective. Many photos in the challenge appear to based on this definition using a camera angel either above or below the subject. I think this may be part of what this challenge is about.
IMHO the challenge to "use perspective to create a dramatic effect" means perspecitive as defined roughly as all of the visual clues in a two dimensional image that allow us to understand the depth and relationships of objects near and far in the three-dimensional world. These include relative size, vanishing points, light, shadow, haze etc. depth of field etc.
What's your perspective? |
Hey, I like this. Now if only more people thought like you I'd have a score worth posting! :D |

I'm in exactly the same boat: well over 6, 7 comments. Err, okay, no favorites.
Maybe everyone was busy commenting on postcards and will comment more today and tomorrow?

I was just doing my best Scalvert impression, your profile looked much cooler than mine having a red ribbon as the highest ranking shot :P |

Funny getting a new personal best and then my second lowest score ever in the same week. Don´t care one bit about the second lowest if that it takes to get an 8+ :) |

Like I said before, I am just a new photographer so I don't have a lot of credibilty. I guess that is just how I would describe the lighting in my photo. I do not say it has perspective lighting because I know everything about photography (which I don't even close), instead that is just the only way I knew how to describe the lighting.
As I said I am new to photography and I don't want to act like I know it all. After the challenge feel free to comment with your thoughts. I am VERY eager to learn all I can. |

Don't worry. No need to back away from your point or apologize for being new to photography. I was sincere - I look forward to seeing your shot. It's hard to imagine what we can't see and don't already know, so being able to see it and put your comments in context will be good! :)

Early congrats. No offense but some of your other high scoring shots had more focus on "perspective" than your ribbon winner, IMO. Professional shot regardless and certainly met the challenge as it's pretty much impossible to be DNMC in such a challenge.
