Can't enter the challenge so I will just post mine here. This would have worked better if it was less overcast today.

Darn, overcast here so no entry, and I'm just getting to know Photomatix. Four images in my portfolio here, IMHO the most striking one being:

Hopefully there will be an HDR II with more time to catch good weather.

And of course, the weather is lousy here with flat gray skies and a howling north wind :(

Success! I've entered my piece despite illness/temperature (camera's seriously need to come with integrated gloves or something ;) ). Looking forward to my best entry yet

Good luck to all :D

Quite possibly, the excess noise is a good indicator of HDR.

Things were against me today. I took the wrong turn on the way to my intended shoot location, it rained whilst I was driving around. I finally got to the location, the sky was overcast and muggy and nothing approaching HDR. I shot some photos anyway.

I got home, and found that I'd left the camera on ISO 1600. The shots are not much use, due to insane noise levels.

Unlucky :/

Well, I got one in. We'll see how it goes. Gonna be interesting to see if the voters go for the extreme HDR "cartoons" or the more realistic approach.

Depends how many of the voters know what HDR is :)

yea i took several and I have everything from very cartoony to normal but i am not sure what to submit. I even processed on black and white but fear of people looking for uber saturation made me delete it.

Good call, I've got the realistic with a big kick of post processing, don't know if the voters will like it, but I sure do :)

well, I am in with my second test with HDR. I will see the results....

Hey what's the deal with time zones on these 24 hour challenges? I'm in New Zealand (GMT +12) and by the time I picked up my email I had about 45 minutes of daylight left on the 12th so my entry was very much a get something while you can. And this morning there are some great skies, the challenge is still open, but it's the 13th! And I'm stuck here at work...

Nope, you can shoot and submit up until midnight tonight SERVER TIME. Doesn't matter what the date says on your camera, they take that into account when they validate. That's why they have a field for "location" that is required when you enter. Go shoot! You have 7 hours and 20 minutes!

After a bit of playing around today, I realize that I am horrible at real HDR! I may be sitting this one out, unless I can figure out a convincing way to fake it ...

Excellent! I'll remember this for the next challenge - wonder if I can get off work early today....

Pity we can't post a neutral reference image to show what the HDR processing has done...
