I am looking at giving calendars away at christmas, last year I printed them myself to have the custom picture and b-days listed. This year I am hoping to have at least the pictures printed, if not everything else. Has anyone used Costco? Another place? Good experiences or bad ones? Any help would be appeciated.

We haven't used them for calendars, but Costco is where we have all of our photos developed, enlargements done , and have used their photo christmas cards. Been using them for years and can't think of anytime that I have been disappointed in their quality.

Costco is great. I typically upload my shots, then a couple hours later drive over, pick them up and I’m good to go. I haven’t tried calendar’s there, but I’m sure they will not disappoint.

I use Costco for all my prints, they do a great job and have never had a problem. Haven't used their calendars, though. Last year I got a calendar made by Ofoto and was very pleased. They have a large selection of templates to use, nice heavy duty paper, etc.

Ofoto is now KodakGallery. Their calendar quality is nice, but I don't like having the Kodak logo on the back. It screams amateur, which is fine for friends and family but not so much if you're looking to sell them and look like a professional.

Ops, Costco doesn't do calendars so I am getting the pages done (I was thinking I wanted to do this because of addition a custom calendar with the family dates on it.) (and of courses different families have the different b-days). Is there any place that will print a calendar without the writting on the back? It would be way easier if I could just run it through my printer afterwards. Or better still a place that would do the printing, including custom notes? Am I hoping for way way to much?

They do calendars through their online photo center -- $9.99 for 8-1/2 x 11 (including borders -- the photos look more like 6x9) and you can start with any month (good for "academic year" styles).

Go to Costco Photo Center and click on the "products" tab.

I haven't gotten one of these, but I use them for most of my other processing. If you do get one, let us know how it turns out.

Thanks I am doing a test, since I normally order a few calendars every year. It is looking like it has gotten easy to order then make.

Wow!!! the online calendar from Costco seems to offer it ALL!!!and cheap (9.99) instead of the 25.00 I spend ordering individual pictures. PLUS lets me do little pictures for special dates!!! Looks perfect!! Thanks again for all the help! You guys are the greatest!

I just noticed you can also add photos and text to any day on the calendar part -- like to put a photo of someone on their birthday.

I was going to recommend Shutterfly, I have happily used them for years for my calanders. But I think I'll give Costco a try this year, that's 1/2 the price! Thanks for the link!

Anyone know if there is any Canadian problems? I was able to get the the us costco site but not the canadian one.... strange... Also asking at the phyical costco I was old they didn't do calendars. Thanks for setting my straight! If they are of any decent quality it will solve a lot of Christmas gift problems.

The US Costco online site is run through Snapfish -- they probably do the calendars there, like they do for enlargements bigger than 12 x 18, not in-store.

I just spent about 8 hours making personalized calendars for each of my family members only to find out that when you "import dates" it corrupts the file and won't save everything...ever. Just beware that if you are making calendars, you need to input the dates individually or do it once, copy under different names so as not to expeerience the incredible frustration that I have!

I love using Costco for my photo prints. There are few options here on Kauai for Photo printing and I get great results every time. I even won an award in a semi-juried art show for one of my overlay photos printed at Costco. I haven't tried the calendars but I will bet they are pretty good. Let us know what happens with your calendar project.

I've heard from a reliable source that the CafePress.com calendars are quite nice.

I use Costco all the time for my prints. You can download the ICC profiles for the individual printers in the stores into PS and check your colours before you print (assuming your monitor is calibrated). Always excellent results. The only downside is that my wife won't let me buy a 13x19 printer because Costco is so cheap!

I use them for virtually all my prints as well, but when I went to test out the calendar layout it looked like the pictures were going to print pretty small, not even close to filling the page -- an 8x10 looks more like a 4x5 centered on the page.

Does anyone have a picture/description of what the actual printed pages look like?

I used Shutterfly (they are always offering specials)....I was very pleased with my results...my mother had just passed away and I gave them to all the adult members of our family (about $350 worth). The pictures were clear, the composition of the pages, I liked and I could included dates for anniversary's as well as birtdays...one thing to watch out for was if someone's birthday landed on a holiday (the last day of the month...one of those little 1/2 day boxes) you had to manually over rided the holiday for the birthday...but it can be done...and double ck your dates...I buggered some of mine...and they just don't let you forget (the family...)....hmmm

I do not use Shutterfly for the prints as they are poor quality...even when I ck the box for keeping the photo intact...I use Costco for my prints...plus you can get free shipping sometimes...and you don't even have to go there to pick up...it is convient...costco's price was better than shutterfly...but I was already to far into the project to change (54 family members and events!!! And that is just my family...

BTW: Costco has (at least for now) lowered the online price for 4x6 prints to $0.13 ... the downside is -- at least at the one I go to -- they are so inundated with work that the turnaround time is now more like 24 hours instead of 1-4 hours. :-(

Costco calendars are okay. Certainly fine for the money ($9.99), but the printed images are somewhat dull and dark. I still order them every year and am generally happy with them. However I have had a few problems recently. Last year, some of the months were blank, and this year they sent me someone else's calendars instead of mine! Anyone out there with 4 calendars of an Asian family? I got 3 calendars of scenes of Dayton Ohio. Costco is great in that they will send replacements, no questions asked, but I may not get them in time for Christmas.
