Hello, this is my first post on this site, i'm fairly new to photography and have only had my canon 400D a couple of weeks. Here are a few photos i have taken whilst learning to use my SLR.
Any Feedback much appreciated

Hey Luke, welcome.
Looks to me like you've got the hang of the new camera already. Of the two shots I like the flower shot best, but they are both nice and sharp. I hope you'll enter a challenge soon and find out what that's all about, in the meantime why not jump in and vote in one of the current challenges?

Not sure how much you know..or don't know..so here's a link on ISO, shutter speed and aperture. Read the manual for your camera, it usually has some good stuff, like how to install a CF card :P. Hope you become a member soon so you can upload those shots to your portfolio. I like the flower shot better also. The lighting in the other seems a bit harsh....at least in my POV.

The photos are great - I actually prefer the mushroom as I like the detail - look forward to seeing some more in the future :o)

I really like the colouring and detail on the mushroom, also the way it's set off to the side. Though the shadow's quite harsh, to me it seems to give balance to the shot. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
