Easing up to respectability after getting hammered on the first two votes (a 4 and a 3). What I find amusing is the average of the last 7 votes I have received: check out the number:
6.57142857142857142857142857142857
That 571428 is repeating infinitely, apparently. I don't know enough about math to know how normal that is, but it seems like a pretty longish string to be repeating like that :-)

Sorry for the obscure maths :-) - any positive integer divided by 7, other than mutiples of 7, will yield the same repeating pattern, just shifted by between 0 and 5 places.
I.e. if the remainder is 1/7th it will start .142857
2/7ths will start .285714
3/7 .428571
4/7 .571428
5/7 .714285
6/7 .857142
Interesting maths, but doesn't help my score much!

Welcome Shaydn, the first time of seeing one's score low is always difficult. As the week wears on, you will probably see lots of changes, good luck :) |

so yeah so... just looking at the first page of thumbnails... i feel ashamed for even having mine in this challenge... it is definitely no where near the quality of these other photos!!! If I could remove it I would...
Good job everyone!! some beautiful shots in there!!!
(low score right now... 4.9... and rightfully so!) |

Wow, just when you think you are getting better, there are some voters who quickly tell you otherwise. Finally thought I might hit the elusive 5.5 mark, but pretty sure that's not going to happen now.

Sometimes I wonder why I enter these things, but then I have to remind myself I will (hopefully) get better. Post processing is killing me.
Edit: seriously, not making light or fun of the lower scores below, but at least I know there are others out there that have the kind of day I seem to be having. Happy shooting everyone :) I'm going to shoot my image now (with a 12 gauge - lol).

Hey Adam! Easy with the needle - LOL. I just entered my first challenge and I understand the frustration. My only goal is to get a score of at least a 5. I was way down yesterday but was happy to see my score go up this morning - hope it stays this way.
