So...what will it take to get a ribbon in this? or get a top 10?
my guess is for a ribbon you will need at least 7.5 and for top ten at least 7.2
What do you think?

I agree that 7+ is going to get Top 10 on this one. I think with the quantity of pictures to go through you have to really have something special to score well. The frustrating part for mine is that thus far I have 8 comments that are all positive and yet I still sit at 5.41. And my honest opinion of it is that its about somewhere about a 6.5 - 7.0. Of course I am biased... :)
Anyways, I think with this number of entries even your thumbnail has to look good to get the votes.

I am happy with the score but I don't understand why it is not higher with comments like:
"10...should be in the top 10."
"Stunning! 10"
"WOW..."

Not picking on anyone in particular, but it always bothers me a bit when people quote the specifics of comments in an ongoing contest.
I hope folks realize when they cite specific comments they are giving away the identity of their photo to the commenter.

Guess mine has thumb appeal but, when you open it its not so great. Good bunch of comments though. I know what's wrong with it.

That does not bother me near as much as when I commment on a photo, then receive a pm from the person "explaining" something in the shot. I make a point of NOT going back to change my score.
I think that if the system was set up to not show who comments are from (essentially making everyone a baghead) it would save some headaches. Then we would never have to worry about this sort of thing. :)
