i have recently mailed some framed 5x7 with mat, frame, and glass (8x10) and was wondering how large a glass size people have tried to mail in the past? 11x14 glass seems a bit large for the mail, what do you think? do you need to go with plexi after the 8x10 size or are there other alteratives out there i'm not aware of?

It all depends on how well the glass is packaged. Of course, more packaging means higher shipping charges. An 11 x 14 should be okay if it's packed correctly. The most important thing to remember when packaging glass is to protect the edges. It doesn't take much to break a sheet of glass when you hit it on an edge.

nonglare acrylic! Doesn't break, cheaper, lighter... Just don't scratch it.
