I have a spoon I found under my mom's car when I was 4 or so, that I still use to this day as my breakfast spoon.

This came up in a conversation with a friend today and i figured it may be a good thing to add here. I sleep completely clothed. not in pajamas but regular clothes. ready for an emergency or a fire or anything else that may require me to be outside in a moments notice in the middle of the night. I could easily blame it on my daughters diabetes and the possibility of seizures and my not being able to leave her side while the ambulance arrived just to put clothes on but in all honesty i slept fully clothed before she was ever even born so thats not it. Its just a good reason to continue. Everyone else I know sleeps naked(those its come up with in conversation at least). I wasnt raised this way my parents are of the naked club as well. I think I may be one of only a select few who do this. any others?

My family calls this the "gunfighter mentality." Both of my sisters and my brother (and myself) do this same thing. It's quite funny when we all go out together, because we are all trying to get the seats that face the door.

I'm a bit better about it now, I can sit with my back to the door, but, given a preference . . .

Wow! That's extreme. I sleep in the buff and often fret over the possibility that I will be thrust outside in the middle of the night. Which brings up another obsession...I sleep with my "warm fuzzy", which is a small, fleece blanket that I wrap around my head to block the light and keep my ears warm. I've already planned to grab my warm fuzzy and use it as a wrap if I have to run out of the house naked. Nude modeling also helped me get over my phobia of being seen without clothes on. Great therapy, that is!

Do you sleep well? I can't imagine that sleeping fully clothed would be comfortable at all. I would go bananas!

It's fun reading about everyone's compulsions!

I'm a stickler for spelling, such as the word "divulge" that should be in the title of this thread. ;-) I also grimace when people write "ya'll" instead of "y'all." It's short for "you all" so it should be "y'all."

But that doesn't really bother me much. My only goofy pet peeve is that I can't stand it when someone's mouth is so dry that they making loud clicking and smacking noises while talking. If someone is doing that on NPR, I have to change the station. Kind of weird, but it's just one of those things.

I dont generally sleep well due to allergies. I'm up all the time squishing my nose and ears trying to stop all the itching(only happens at night unless a cat rubs thier face in mine during the day then it happens during the day too)but anyhow,. before I had cats I slept well. And I think the clothes are comforting. TMI warning.. the bra especially. I cant imagine those things all over the place while I'm trying to sleep. seriously.(cant believe I just said that) TMI done also what if a bug crawled on me? ewwwwwwwww. but being fully clothed at least they have less chance of coming in contact with my skin. maybe thats more of a fear in the south. those friggen palmettos are huge. I dont want to see one from across the room let alone have one crawl on me. i dont think thats a common occurance but It's been in my mind before. I woke up with one on my toe once and now I make sure my toes are always covered too. lol

I worked with this woman who, every single day, when she came to work, got out of her car and pulled out a lint roller and de-linted her self before coming inside.

I had a Volkswagon Jette TDI diesel for 7 years. Every time I'd be gassing up I'd think "oh crap, it's diesel, not gas" and look at the pump to make sure I was indeed pumping diesel in my car. Happened every time.

When I learned to drive standard, I stalled it a few times because I tried to take off in third gear. So now when I'm stopped, I compulsively take it out of gear, put it in neutral, then back into first gear a few times. I never seem to be sure it's in first gear. hehe.

I like thinking about stupid stuff like, if Teflon is the worlds stickiest substance then how do they get it to stick to the pan? If the people on Kong island wanted to keep Kong out then why did they build a wall the had a door big enough for him to get through?

I hate to get wet feet after a shower, or when my socks get wet.

ever dropped your recently buttered toast? how come it always
falls on the buttered side?

my spouse uses a whole can of doom in the bedroom to kill one
mosquito.

when someone alters the seat postion, aircon, mirror in my car to
make a 2km journey and then doesnt put them back.

You have cats but you're allergic to them? Me too! I found out from an allergy test that I'm "severely" allergic to cats, but I already had all my babies, so I couldn't just get rid of them! So I just deal with it. Mostly it's fine but sometimes my nose gets all clogged up. I am just amAAAzed that you can sleep with all those clothes on. But at least if something happens, you most definitely would be prepared in the middle of the night. :)

Cd's, i cant stand a cd with anything stuck on it, labels, price, adverts, they drive me crazy. My real hate is when they come off but leave a residue, i will scrub those things with chemicals and rough things to get them clean, and i'll do this before i put the cd on, the case has to be clean first.

Also when ever im walking with anyone i alwayss make so that my right hand is free to move and wont be easily restricted by people or objects. or late at night if im going to pass people i dont trust i will walk on the road just so my right arm is free to move first.

a weird one that i dont quite understand. despite being non-religious i sometimes catch my self saying sorry under my breath if i'v used the term god or jesus while im swearing. that one baffles me.

I hate it when people chew with their mouth open...especially when the chomp loud and move their food around in their mouth, making a disgusting sound that sounds like when people make out on soap operas and the cameras are right next to their mouth.

gross.

Sometimes my husband believes I have a strange obsession with photography. You want to go "Where?" or "Do we really have to get up that early (or stay up that late)?"

I arrange the dishes in the dishwasher a certain way. If my mother-in-law comes over and loads the dishwasher, I usually have to rearrange it. There is a method to my madness. I've always been good at space planning and my dishwasher method allows more dishes.

I believe the same thing so no one in my house will load dishes. I think I screwed myself with that one. ;)

My wife would say that I have that one too. She just hands me the dishes and says, "You're just going to rearrange them anyway..." lol

Oh... Also applies to the freezer. I can pack a freezer like no one's business. Spatial reasoning! lol
