I don't know! Never thought of that. I figure I will just have to check it in the morning.

If it helps any, my D70 did not.

How would the camera know if you're in a time zone that honors DST? Or even a hemisphere? (in the southern hemisphere, they are about to move their clocks forward while, in the north, we're about to move ours back)

i would say that no, it will not automatically adjust.

but i better check!!! :)

I'd say no, unless they have atomic clocks running in them (and they don't). We have to set the time as the Canon (at least) does not know which time zone it is in :)

I didn't even think about changing the time on my camera...

my canon 20D syncs time with my computer so in the morning when i plug it in it should auto update cause most computers will automatically notice the DST change

It's 'Spring' forward and 'Fall' back, iirc.

Technically at 2am EST tonight/sunday morning (2 hours 50 minutes from now) time will set back 1 hour server time. Our cameras should all be reset to relfect that change or we could get an ugly DQ for date violation.

My Pentax *ist-DL is set to do so. Only owned it for 2 months so tomorrow morning will be the test.

You should only be subject to a DQ if you shoot your entry during the last hour of the submission period, when your EXIF will show that your picture was somehow taken in the future ... : )

To my knowledge, and based on past experience, cameras do NOT reset themselves.

On that note, this is your official, friendly SC reminder to

SET THE DATE AND TIME ON YOUR CAMERA or if you are not in an area that changes

CHECK IT ANYWAY

:)

Yuh huh! The Time Machine Effect is addressed in the Challenge Dates provision isn't it? ;)

You're in the habit of shooting challenge entries at 11 PM of the last challenge day? That's cutting her pretty close... I've been known to be PROCESSING at 11 PM, but time/date stamp isn't gonna affect that.

I don't have to change the time backwards on mine, only because I never set it forward 6 months ago. :-)

I've done that more than once... you can tell which ones if you sort my potrfolio by score in the ascending order...
