Hi guys, i just had my first couple of shots printed, and had them printed out 8"x10". The problem is that they cut of about an inch either side of the photo, which isnt that harmful as i can get them re-printed, but i was just wondering if it was because i got too small a print size and should get some bigger print next time aroud, if there is something that i could do to make sure i get the ful picturenext time or if they are just a bad place to get them printed. Thanks .

If the dimensions are different from the original you'll need to crop to the desired size before ordering...that way you get the crop you want.

Adjust the ratios of your file to that of the print. Like if you want 4x6 prints then the dimenions of your file should be in the ratio of 4:6, similarly for 8:10. If your 4x6 prints are coming fine then you can get 8x12 prints without cropping. For 8x10 prints you'll have to recompose and resize your file.

Also, depending on your purposes, you can just ask the developers to leave the edges on and cut the photo yourself. Depends how perfectionistic you are... :) You also have to consider framing. most frames are for common sizes. If you want to do an 8x24 or something crazy, you will need to do a custom frame... Even if you want to do an 8x12, you might be hard pressed to find a frame for it. It might be a case of some creative matting or just looking around till you find one.
