Guys, I'm having trouble with the clarity level of my canon. I have tried all three of the lenses I own, and I am still just not getting that crisp, clean feel. Yes, yes, I have been through all the adjustments, and a ton of experimental lighting.

Is this trash, or is there something I can do? If an example will help, look at my Woody entry in the last challenge. Its the perfect example, remember I used USM.

Not sure what you mean by clarity here. Your Woody shot looks pretty clear to me. Post another example with the exif data included.

HI Jason, I didnt realize you were so close to me. We should put together a GTG in the St. Louis area sometime. Maybe a trip to the zoo.

As far as your clarity problem, I wonder if you put it on Manual focus if you cure your problem. Maybe your cameras AF needs a calibration? Post some unedited versions so we can see.

I may be stating the obvious, but have you cleaned the sensor? It may not have dust spots but could still have some build up on it.

STL GTG sounds great!

There is a milky look to the woody photo, I don't like it. As a matter of fact, I thought that it might have done alot better if I could of brought up the clarity, and the crispness.

As for the G2G, that sounds totally awesome. Post a thread, and see what happens.

Lots of neat architecture in STL. Fall colors are incredible in STL "right now", but that time is nearing its end. If ya'll do start a thread keep me posted, I'm definately interested.

Another place for the season colors is The nature reserve in Gray Summit off of Hwy 44. (just throwin that out there for anybody interested)

I also have the Rebel / 300D and had the same feeling with it. I feel that the shots aren't as crisp and clear as my powershot G5.

Take a look at this, a comparison I did of the 300D and G5

I came to the conclusion that the 300D doesn't have the same level of sharpening as my G5, and I need to apply smart sharpening during post processing to produce crisp images.

I also felt that the kit lens, ( which you didn't use ), produces not very sharp images at all. Which leads to that general feeling.
