Hey fellow DPC folks. I have a question for any and all of you that have used DPC prints. I keep hearing how amazing the prints are and thats very encouraging. However how long does it take to get them? I have ordered one of my own prints 7 days ago paid for it and when I check status of it it says that its in the Que to be printed. How many days is it going to sit in the que? Is this normal for prints from there? I have sent an admin request but havent heard anything back yet. I'm hoping that maybe the status just isnt being updated and its at least printed and on its way to me for my customer. Anyway whats been your experience?

The quality is great and I think the quickest was maybe a 3 day wait. Five the longest, if I recal correctly.

Send Drew or Langdon an email and they will look into it. I had this happen once and quickly rectified.
Great quality and (usually) very fast, I've gotten the photo in 3 days, usually 5 from order date, is my experience.

Bumping back to the top maybe some more input. I did e-mail Langdon Sunday and he got back to me and they were going to rush it. Its wednesday now and I'm still in the Que. Disappointing to say the least. I guess I'm going to have to order it rush elsewhere and just eat my losses if this one ever shows up.

My first order took 4 weeks. Others took no longer than 2. And yes, the quality is very good.

I use MPIX for my own orders, and I've never had ANY order take over a week.

Wow thats a totally unacceptable time frame for prints. 4 weeks or 2.

Edit to add, SHutterfly is my normal service for prints I dont do myself. I have never had them take longer then 4 days from the day I order till they are at my door. Even my local lab that does my film never takes longer then 24 hours no matter how many rolls I send them.

I don't recomend DPC Prints. Don't mess around there until they get "v 2.0" which has been rumored to be in the works since I joined a couple of years ago. Seriously, use MPIX. The quality is unbeatable, and I seriously usually get my prints the day after I upload. No kidding. Why mess around with this? Use someone who is consistant and you trust. Hope I don't ruffle any feathers, but honestly that part of the site has not been a priority for anybody as far as I can tell. I'm honestly surprised they are still even doing it.

Knowing now what I didnt know then I wouldnt have. However they have had my money for a week and a half already, so its not like I can just move on and just forget it. My customer also is waiting for this print, as its not for me. OH well live and learn. MPIX I guess will get my order as soon as I can get home to upload.

I believe Smugmug uses the same printer as DPC Prints, and they've always shipped for me the next day. Yes, the print quality is most excellent.

MattO, if you are really in a bind and want me to, I'll host your photos (in a private gallery) on my Smugmug long enough for you to order them, and then take them down after you've received your prints. Just send me a PM and I'll get you set up.

Hey Matt send you a PM.

EZ Prints has a customer service dept you can contact.

My experience with them has been very good. I have been very happy with their print quality. The one occassion where it was not top notch, Langdon, myself and EZ Prints worked it out and the reprint was fabulous!

I had a couple of bad results from the back end printer for dpcprints(very poor quality control, when I complained - I had to pay the shipping back to them, before they'd replace the picture (that they screwed up)) So I ended up paying shipping twice, for their mistakes.

I use local labs now. Much easier to get good results, I'm right there if anything is wrong with the print, etc.

Frankly, I'd rather go with a company who no one has even hinted that they have had a problem with, rather than one that sends out sloppy work and makes you take time to fix it.

MPIX/Millers is one of those companies (at least I've never heard a single bad thing of them)

eZprints probably does more volume, but it seems in growing their operations, QC and turnaround time has gone down the drain.

Well I have to eat a few words here and apologize a bit. I got home this evening and my Pano print is waiting on me. Fedex delivered it today. Even though right now when I look at my order history it still shows my print is in the Que to be printed. However I am happy its here and I can get it to the frame shop to be matted and framed and sent off to my customer. I appreciate the fact that Langdon made the call and got it done. However it shouldnt have to be that way. No way a print from any customer should sit 7 days and do nothing, if they are that busy its time to increase the volume they can put out. Anyway public apology for jumping the gun today. But I'm under the gun to get this done. Thanks
