from freedictionary.com: Noun 1. slub - soft lump or unevenness in a yarn; either an imperfection or created by design
burl, knot
roughness - a texture that is not smooth but is irregular and uneven

Won't say we're stuck yet...but while we ponder the next iteration, slubs is a wonderful word I learned from the textile industry which likes to tell us on labels of natural yarn products that "imperfections" such as slubs are intentional and part of the character of the product....since I like character in my products, I have always liked the word.
