Hiya I'm new to all of this and I'd really love to have some comments on this image - good points, bad ...etc... I hate the title I've chosen but I couldn't think of a better one. I just really want to improve!

Thanks!

Thanks for the previous comment - really useful! This is one I did of my Dad a few weeks ago. I'm not too sure how to find the data for date taken, ISO, ..etc... is there a tutorial somewhere that would tell me?

Any other comments would be fab thanks!

I am drawn to the reflection of trees in her sunglasses. (which is a bit distracting for me, since it is a portrait pic)

Good setup on the pic, imo.

And a bit of digital art. The following were taken at an empty steel plant. I used my 10-22 with a polarizing filter - it was midday and the ole sun was a blazin. The first shot is a composite of two images (both at the plant).

I have had an unusual number of things to post here lately (and a few more to come). Please feel free to comment or not as time permits.

A little more 'artsy' but beyond contrast and a little dodge and burn no post processing. Just curious about what people think, I don't think its the best shot ever or anything like that.

I'm sort of curious as to the reactions and commentary of this group. This technique that I've been playing with for a while seems to be fairly well received by the voters, and yet on this site where true to life and clarity seem to be paramount, this doesn't realy make sense to me. Thoughts?

You and I are of the same era so you will understand my reference. Remember in Star Trek when they showed 'pretty' women, they would film them through gauze to give them that dreamy, romanticized look? And they also filmed Captain Kirk the same way when he was hot for one of those women. They did it once for Spock when he fell in love but it didn't 'feel' right because, well, he's a vulcan. Anyway, people love romanticizing things and your images are romanticized versions of reality. They have a glow associated with dreamy, deep sigh, visions. Hope that makes sense. You will find lots of that on DPC and I use it as well - people really like it. (By the way, this is my opinion, educated by time spent on DPC. You may or may not agree. ;))
