unfortunately for you, posthumous will probably love this shot and give you a 10...

the score from the rest of the DPC public, however, won't have the 0...

FWIW, that looks like code generated by Norton popup blocker.

the sun has set AGAIN ? was this a new occurance to you ?

sharpening does not mean leave white shadows/halos on everthing in the image

that blurry smudge was the subject ? ah yess ... and the reason you didn't fill the frame was -- it was to blurry ?

Actual comment from a judge on several "portraits" submitted at a local photo club:
"I'm sure the family would be happy to have this image, but it has no place in a photo competition."

I saw this one on a dpc entry (not mine)& always thought it quite humourous.

"I hope you get the help you so desperatly need. Don't give up, Moses was once a basket case too."

I almost always say exactly what I am feeling when I look at an image.. that's probably why my ratio of comments made/comments helpful is so far apart

For sure you call it like you see it. Of that there is no doubt! :-)

ROFL That is sooo funny.

1. I'm sure your mother would love this shot no matter what.
2. Did you think they said hocus pocus? No, it's FOCUS, FOCUS!
3. I love your son's pimples
4. Digital and pitifu are not synonimous
5. This ____ is a great idea, but is completely out of focus. What if you worked from a different perspective and changed your DOF? I'd make sure I shot it at different time of day so that the lighting was an addition to the shot, not a blaring search light. In fact, I wouldn't even shoot this, or take this photo at all. It totally sucks, and has no merit plus I don't know why I'm wasting my time giving a comment.

I don't know how I missed this thread for so long, but I just read it from begining to here. My family is now questioning my sanity as I have been sitting in my office, by myself, laughing hysterically for a half an hour.

Great stuff!! Thanks for the laugh.

[quote=mist] I got a similar photo to this by randomly spinning the dials for shutter speed and aperture, then throwing my camera up into the air with a piece of tape over the shutter.

ROFL :)

"I've just reviewed your portfolio and am really impressed that in all your challenge entries, you have perfected this abstract-macro effect and called it your own."

Please tell me that's only Yogurt.

Probably the most unique shot of a cat I have seen - or is it a dog?

I haven't read all the posts on this thread so I don't know if it's gotten nasty or not, however, I am going to put my 2 cents in. Something like this came up on another site I frequent. It got pretty nasty and people got offended. It got to the point where the owner of the site had to step in and delete the thread. All I can say is, if you don't have the guts the actually say it on a comment then just don't say it. IMO, saying it on a thread like this doesn't make it OK.

Cheers!

- Was the entire sky really on fire that day?
- She / He should not be posing nude.
- Your dog / kid / cat might be facinating but nobody else really cares.
- Not another bleeting flower.
- I have no bleeting idea what this is supposed to be.
