I know that the DPC box keeps changing and that particular styles ,which would formerly seem unique, are now fairly commonplace.

Let's share some styles that might be considered out of the box for DPC.

I'll start with a couple that I like:

Doug's (' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', '/') + 1) . ' digitalknight) new series is intriguing and surrealistic; even moreso when you consider that he hauled a truck load of furniture to the salt-flats, made his wife dress up in vintage garb and took this series. I love it, and commend him for going to such lengths in the name of his art!
' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/551/thumb/395499.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/551/thumb/395499.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/31403/thumb/407691.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/31403/thumb/407691.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/31403/thumb/407690.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/31403/thumb/407690.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/31403/thumb/407692.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/31403/thumb/407692.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/31403/thumb/407689.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/31403/thumb/407689.jpg', '/') + 1) . '
Congratulations on your new highest scoring submission, Doug! PS I hope you upload the one of your son, too.

Today, I discovered another photographer/digital artist who keeps a fairly low profile. At least I haven't seen much about her in the forums. And that's ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' susi. Sentimentality is a trait that my art teachers encouraged me to avoid; because it's so difficult to pull off effectively. Yet, here is a set of images that is extremely sentimental, without being offensive. I have fallen in love with her work and the magic she does with Corel Paint.

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/365776.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/365776.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/386125.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/386125.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/357494.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/357494.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/332002.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/332002.jpg', '/') + 1) . '' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/339570.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/24111/thumb/339570.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

Wow! Both of these are definitely stylists. I especially like Susi's portraits; kind of a 'Norman Rockwell' feel to them. She has tutorial DVD available on her website; check her profile.

Here's one more of Doug's. I think it might be my favorite.

Had the vacuum, and a mop and bucket, left BOTH at home 3 hours away. Didn't decide to go get them :-|

Thanks though, glad you liked it, and thanks Roxanne for including me here.

FWIW, I've uploaded the full res versions and prints are available on all this series of Salt Flat photos.

Thanks again to Roxanne and all the commenters - I appreciate your responses.
