As a marketing executive, its hard to resist trying to comment honestly on all the beer and soft drink entries. (So I won't resist) I'm treating them as if they've came across my desk at work. While I know its not proper protocol, please feel free to PM me if you have questions about my comment. Remember the comments are all just one person's opinion and are intended to help. Thanks !

If you are concerned about backlash, why not put a brief sentence or two of similar content to your original post in your profile. Make it visible because if someone did want to flame you in response, at least they'd see that first... They might not catch this forum thread.

That reminds me of Leroy's comments on the Photojournalism challenge. I wish every challenge had a subject-matter expert commenting on every picture! It's a beautiful thing.

Too bad I'm not in that challenge! :)

no problem here. I know mine is not that good(the photo, I think the idea is funny) but I never mind honest critiques.

posthumous is the greatest commenter EVER! I can't always tell if he's being sarcastic though. Here's his comment on my Purple entry. It is on the short list of my all time favorite comments.

hi scarbrd, once again your wife is an excellent model, very expressive. The makeup seems overdone, but then I wonder if it suggests a story. Perhaps she is a showgirl about to go out. No, the room is too nice. She is a showgirl who has been brought back to the home of a rich gentleman. He is off in the bathroom. She has removed her kimono and is wondering if this is the right life for her. but what is so special about the kimono... perhaps it was a gift from a man who truly loved her, a poor man whom she despised for being poor, surrounded as she was with wealth. In the mirror she notices just how heavily she has been putting on makeup lately, and she realizes that she is compensating for the first signs of age. It is thoughts of aging that is making her question her priorities, her rejection of a man who truly loves her... for when her beauty fades she will have nothing, nothing at all. I'll give you a 7 for now and might bump you up later.

Don read WAAAAAAAAAYYYYY more into this image than was there. Very creative.

Wow! I'm not sure what his profession is, but posthumous ought to be writing novels. :)

prolly soon time for another great commentor thread (so this one doesn't get highjacked)

yeah, I'm not a subject matter expert, I'm a BS expert... heeheehee

and no I'm not being sarcastic (though I did realize I was reading more into the photo than the photographer intended, it is still valid imho)! when I think there's a chance someone will think I'm sarcastic, I include the score so they know I mean business.

In retrospect, I've never received a negative PM about any comment I've ever made. I've heard about them but.... Most virtual things don't scare me though.

Awesome. With "real world" type challenges, it rocks to get real world feedback from those with experience in the field. Comment away!

I don't suppose I could interest you in any robot insurance then?
