Here is a technical macro question...
I currently own the Sigma 105mm Macro lens that is a true 1:1 Macro lens. I would like to go even farther if possible to 2x-lifesize, 3x-lifesize or more. This is no problem for the Canon MP-E 65mm Macro lens which goes from 1x-5x lifesize with the lens alone, but it won't work on my Minolta 5D.
I have been told that if I purchase the Kenko Extension Tube set (12mm, 20mm and 36mm) I will be able to get much higher magnifications, BUT, using the formula (tube length / focal length = added magnification) that means that even if a used ALL 3 tubes on my 105mm, the best I could get would be: 68mm /105mm = .64 added magnification. That doesn't even bring the lens up to a 2x lifesize image.
What is the best way to go beyond 1:1 macro photography. Is there a better macro lens to use than the Sigma 105mm or should I just be happy with what I have?

| Thanks for the great link. Looks like I just need to get a cheap 50mm Minolta lens and few couples and I'm all set. That was the best article I have seen on reversing lens. Thanks a million... |
