When viewing videos online, such as at youtube, the video stops after .02 seconds, and doesnt go forward. I can push it forward manually, but no sounds either ?? got any ideas??

I am sure many people can help you out but first they will need to know what browser you are using, computer system, etc. Most likely the first round of responses will be to get rid of adware. Have you tried using another browser? If you are using IE try to Firefox. It could be any number of things.

Are you using a wireless router or are you cabled directly in? I can't watch streaming video on my laptop because the signal briefly drops every few minutes, but have no issues with the desktop, which is wired directly to the connection.

Not sure I know what I'm talking about but will pass along what I was told. I've been having a glitch along the same lines.

For me -I can't see/watch video on some websites. Fox-News I can't see any of them. CNN and YouTube I see just fine.

It's been suggested to me to turn off cookie blocker and allow pop-ups.
Neither of those things helped. Then I was told it could be my firewall or the firewall from my ISP.
?
Maybe you can glean something~?
P.S. IE and router

Curious, do videos on your HardDrive play fine?

you probably have to download the latest flash version.

I dont think Flash is the issue, I recently uninstalled the latest version of Flash and installed an old version for reasons I dont wish to disclose, :)

EDIT: And my streaming video play fine..

Post the link to the videos you are trying to view. Are they "mega" long? I find that when I try a 6-10 min video, my stream stops and takes a long time to start again.

Post a link and let us see if it is happening to us!

streaming video cannot be "fast forwarded" to the time-frame where it has not been "downloaded" into your computer. Sounds to me you might have a connection issue here.

Sounds like a CODEC issue. You need to download and install the CODEC that whatever movie you are trying to watch is encoded in. A CODEC is (basically) the algorithm used to encode the video... the compression scheme... The most common is DIVX and I know that Microsoft has a CODEC pack for Windows Media as well. Do a google search on DivX for it. WindowsUpdate for the other.
