This was my submission with an average score of 5.3278

1.

This was my second choice, which seemed to be the winner when asking around but I didn't think it had as much impact.

2.

Some others... I thought they were a bit out of focus... but apparently so was my entry. It's ok though because I have a better camera now!

3.

4.

5.

and this one in no way was I going to enter but I found it hilarious.

Of the ones you posted I still really like your original submission. The focus seems a lot sharper than in the others.

My second choice would probably be #5. Since it was basic editing the white spots may have hurt though.

I think #3 has really good composition and it makes it really interesting. But like you said, the focus seems a bit off. If it was sharper this would probably be my first pick of the bunch.

So as you can tell, I'm pretty undecided :)

LOL. Yea that's about how I felt. I really liked 3 as well but the focus and the line created from my "backdrop" which was really 2 black shirts really bothered me.

Bah to basic editing! LOL.

I like the visual impact of #2 a lot and if you could have gotten the three colors to blend smoothly at the bottom, would have given it my blue ribbon. Still like your original challenge entry.

Thanks for your imput. Unfortunetly I was working with limited time... the goo had been played with too much the night before by my boyfriend and his friends and wasn't as... usable? as it could have been the next day. It started hardening.

They all look pretty good from the thumbnail but at full view they all seem slightly out of focus (some more than others). I really liked your entry, I think I made a comment during voting that it was really cool but had focus issues. I'm not sure why they are all out of focus, is the goo hard to focus on?

i think it was my camera with the lighting. It doesn't do very well in low light. I don't have a studio so I had it out in the sunlight but it was too bright so I brought it just slightly into a shadow and then it was too dark! LOL. I can't win. Then it's the toss up... I could do manual and get the right shutter speed but the focus it's that great being up close, or do macro and lose the shutter control. Either way the results weren't great.

These were alternates to the pic I submitted. Had a really hard time choosing though.

Hey number 2 there, cropped vertically, is a pretty cool looking shot. Don't know that anyone of them best your entry though.

From the thumbnail I'd say the last one. But I dunno the lighting is a bit dull on all of them.
