I hope so too :-) If not, sue Apple for false advertising, brcause they are supposed to be (and for the most part are) easier than Windows.

Have fun with your new puter ...

Just remember, if you're using a mouse, there is no right-click function like in Windows. The lack of a right-click was disorienting when I used an Apple at school. :)

That was really nice that they upgraded you!

Macs are fun!

Huh? The Mac OS has supported right click ever since mice were made having two buttons. Apple held out for a long time offering a two button mouse of their own, but the Mac OS is fully right-click enabled.

Well the mouse I used at school in 2003 had one button. Kinda hard to right or left-click with only one button :)

Congrats on your new Mac ... after many years being a Windows user I took the plunge to Mac in June and I've not regretted one minute of it. I use a Logitech mouse and have all right click availability. PM me anytime if you have any questions. I think you'll find it easier than you expect, I sure did!

Is your favorite mouse a Logitech? Mine is the wireless MX Laser, software that came with it included drivers for Mac .. it works perfectly!

Tom-Go to the Mac Store in Soho where they give free demos ALL day long.
I don't find macs that intuitive so it helped me a lot and I right could use another tune-up on how to mac things work so I may pass by the store soon.

The topics cover everything including specific software (Aperture, iPhoto, PS CS2...garaqgeband etc.)and each demo lasts around an hour. You can hang out as long as you wish and plug onto the internet right in the theatre which is great if the topic doesn't interest you.

When I open safari it opens right to apple site does anyone know to change that , also when I move my mouse around sometimes the screen dims and I can get a web site to open to a full page
09/18/2006 09:41:59 PM · #24
in safari click on the word "Safari"(look next to the apple in the upper left) then choose "preferences" and on that window click on general and you should see it there where you can change your home page
