Hmmm...

...or remember to read your owner's manual, for that matter.

I'm sure that some of the mechanics on here can attest to this more than I, but your battery recharges every time you run the car, given that your battery is OK and that your alternator isn't a big paperweight.

Interesting story, though...

This stuff can happen.

One has to wonder about the point when a person should no longer be allowed to drive for their own safety.

With some of the newer vehicles, that may be a tad difficult.
I just looked up the 2006 Cadillac SRX specs and counted 49 modules / control units.

That reminds of when two old friends of my parents came up to visit. They hired a car frm the airport and drove two hours to my parents' house, but they couldn't find the buttons to roll the windows down (electrically).
I thought that was odd, so when they were leaving, I did a quick inspection of the car doors to find ... the traditional old handle for winding down windows. ;>รพ
