Here on LI, there is a group of manly men who are showing their softer side. They founded a non profit group called Contractors for Kids As stated on their site... "for the purpose
of providing assistance to families in our communities. Our goal for
“Contractors for Kids”, is to assist children and their families overcome obstacles that have unfortunately changed or have impacted their lives through sickness or injury or death. We are committed to this foundation and want to give hope and reassurance for their futures."
Along the way, the blues band I am in was asked to perform at their Day at the Park BBQ on Sept, 16th. They have been selling raffles for a custom OCC (Chopper motorcycle) for $25 ea. all summer & will draw the winning name on Saturday.
$10pp or $30 per family to get in at the park for Live music, BBQ & more. Live children's music starts at 11am. Bands start performing at 12pm. We are set to perform at 1pm. You can find more info on their website.
If you live near or on Long Island & enjoy helping a very good cause, photographing live events, love a good BBQ or just want to be able to come back here to report if LtHousLady can carry a tune or not, come on down & join us!
I have no other affiliation with this group other than donating our performance & supporting their great efforts.
