Yeah I got that comment to "where is the thirds?"...thats so confusing specially after I measured mine and even gave hint in title so people with geometry problems could find it.
Well all is turned off otherwise I'll be steeming.

I saw a lot of photos from people who I think mistakingly thought that you had to have three separate sections of the photo that divided the shot into three separate areas.

It's a warm-up to get you ready for the School Days: Chemistry and Geometry challenges where all the f*****s who can't be troubled to read anything beyond the challenge title are going to have a field day on any shot that doesn't have something to do with schools.

They should stick the details of the challenge directly beneath each submission in bold.

It's all what is perceived. So what if it's off by a millimeter or 10. But when you're looking for a reason to mark an image down being anal about the measurement I guess is a reason. ;o)

I've seen a couple that, while technically correct on ROT's, appeared to be centered, or closer to centered than on a ROT point. I think in some cases it's the eye/mind auto-correct type thing, or an optical illusion perhaps?

BTW, ROT means Rule Of Thirds (I've have a couple PM's wanting to know what that meant in my comments). ;^)

I'm kind of one of those people Sean and you made a useful comment re: my photo [Thanks]. I had two photos to choose from...one that fit the challenge better, but I didn't like the quality of the photo; and the one I entered, which I knew 'stretches' the rules of thirds but I think is a nicer, better quality pic. My score is suffering for it. I said to my wife on Sunday night that I'd rather get a lower score with a pic I like, than enter something strictly for the voters but I'm not that happy with. Maybe next time, I'll post both pics in the forums for critiques.

This could end up as a persomal best score. Not bad for a shoehorn - I wasn't going to enter, originally.

Plus, it's going to make my profil page look .... different ;>รพ

Hanging out near the middle road, which has been consistent since the first few votes. All three of my images in current challenges are in the 5s at least... so maybe I've made it out of 4-land? :)

Even if you get out for a while you get thrown back eventually. Check my history of challenge entries. I'm in the process of trying to crawl back out again. Hopefully, you'll have better luck. ;o)

Real close to turning off the score. :( I think I'd rather it started out at 4.5 and worked it's way back up to 5.83

For the first time in a challenge, my score actually kept increasing when voting started. It peaked at 6.8 and has fallen ever since to

Boom-shaka-laka!

Voters can now work on transposing the six and the five, then we'd be copacetic!

I can't break the 5.0 barrier. Everytime I get close someone puts in some lower scores.

Is anyone else dropping in score. I've gone from a 6.7 to a 6.48? I find this strange since it was going up so well. Plus I think people are confused what is in my rule of thirds. (What the subject is)

09/09/2006 09:29:32 AM · #149
Yes, overnight I dropped .2! If I drop another .2 it will become a sub-5 photo. (Of course it probably deserves it :-))
09/09/2006 09:45:28 AM · #150
Strangest voting that I have encountered with any entry to date. 3 favorites, 8 good comments and still dropping. Curious to see how it all shakes out.
