some awesome ideas come along and there are very few more awesome than this.

//homokaasu.org/rasterbator/

the rasterbator is a neat gimmick. feed any photograph into the flash generator and it will give you a pdf file that you can print out. the printed image is an A4 dot matrix that looks like the original. it's kind of pop art if you look at it up close, but from a distance it looks awesome.

there are also thousands of pictures that people have submitted of the rasterbated images on their walls at home.

this thing's not new, it's been around for over 2 years. but i've just discovered it, so i'm sure some of you have never heard of it either.

great idea ... especially if you wanna blow up some of your photos very cheaply and stick them together! :)

enjoy

i didn't think the word rasterbator would be a problem! :)

it is cool ... i've decided to have a try at printing out a photo. it's a big black and white shot. i'm printing 50 A4 pages and i'm going to stick it on my wall! :)

I've used it. I like it quite a bit, but it uses alot of ink.

Just downloaded the standalone app, and played a file through it.
Now, whose printer can I use...?

Rasterbate definitions, and yep - you can say "rasterbate" in the forums.

Might take one to a local print shop that does colour laser A3 pages for like R7 (about a dollar). Will have to stick it to my ceiling as my walls are rather full.

Im gona print a life size photo of my wife and glue it to some cardboard. Then im gona speed threw some redlights holding it up over my face. :D

See what happens when they send a ticket in the mail with her photo at the wheel.

Sweet. Can I have your camera after you crash while breaking traffic laws and holding something over your face so that you can't avoid accidents?

I just hooked my brand new printer up yesterday. And today I'm out of ink because I tried to make one of these and it was very black and the black ink is now gone and I couldn't even finish the 18 pages. :(
