This might be an odd question. How does one take a self portrait of ones self? I have a Rebel XT, wireless remote and tripod but how do you get the camera to be in sharp focus on the eyes. The remote is triggered in manual focus mode. So doesn't someone have to compose the photo for you? Can someone detail how they have done it?

Thank you.

Here's my trick. I put a light stand where I plan to be... focus the camera on that - then lock the remote open or set the timer and go stand where the light stand was :)

others (not me) get someone to do it for them... then they click the remote

Yeah I put something there, manual focus on it, then run back and forth 50 times until I get 'the' shot.

I use a remote controller, focus, and try, try again.

I do it backwards. I setup the tripod but don’t attach the camera. Then I take the camera with me and get into pose. Focus on the tripod head, then take the camera and mount it on the tripod taking care not to knock the focus ring.
